Cindy Padro-Thomas is no stranger to service, growth and leadership. She lived in Puerto Rico until moving to Tennessee, where she attended Lee University and earned a B.A. in Communications. After graduation, Cindy's degree and bi-lingual abilities quickly thrust her into a successful career where she began traveling the world and climbing the ladder in corporate America. But it all came to an immediate halt. While enjoying a long weekend get-a-way, Cindy attended a street-outreach program to help and minister to impoverished families on a Saturday afternoon... and her life was changed forever.
Now, with more than two decades of full-time ministry behind her, she has served alongside her husband, Scott Thomas, throughout their marriage of over 26 years. With a deeply rooted desire to maintain their creative style, passion for ministry, love for God’s people and the freedom it brings, they launched Free Life Chapel in Lakeland, Florida in January 2011. Free Life Chapel, is a church designed to reach the “un-churched” and “de-churched”, while equipping maturing Believers to live a discipled lifestyle inside their God-determined destinies.
Cindy is a devoted wife, mother to their son and daughter in-love, Caleb & Elizabeth, and Co-Pastor (a constant source of co-labored support) to Free Life Chapel. Her unassuming nature, tenderness, transparency and genuine love for God and people, have proven to touch the lives of many. Anointed with a unique and powerful ability to connect with people of all ages and cultures, Cindy’s amusing teaching style and leadership skills propels spiritual maturity in the lives of those she reaches.
As an insightful speaker, Cindy's message draws candidly from her own real-life struggles, experiences as a wife and mother, her Latin culture, and leadership principles. A spicy-energetic woman on and offstage, Pastor Cindy, as she is affectionately referred to by the Free Life Chapel congregation, possesses the rare ability to reach and stir her audiences as she works to complement their ministry.
Within every community around the world are women committed to enriching the lives of others. They are women who are called by God to fulfill a specific purpose and to execute His plan. Cindy is one of those women. Today’s woman must be equipped with the uncanny ability of balancing her life physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. Because of these changing responsibilities, Cindy founded Spice, a ministry dedicated to the empowerment of women whose purpose is to impact and drastically improve the quality of life of families and communities in which they live.
